We have Communion or what is called, the Lord’s Supper, every Sunday in worship. Because we believe that the act of Communion is a part of extending the gracious hospitality of Jesus Christ to all. Everyone who seeks to follow Jesus Christ is invited to partake in Communion. Our Communion table is a symbol of our deep commitment to Christian unity. It honors diversity even as it celebrates the unity we have in Jesus Christ.
In baptism the old life is set aside and a new life of trust in God and commitment to following in the ways of Jesus Christ begins. We practice baptism by immersion in the water, but we honor other baptism traditions.
The ministry of believers is an important part of our worship. On Sunday mornings you are likely to see many lay persons, both men and women leading in the worship service. Men and women also serve the church in ordained ministry.
Disciples are called together around one essential of faith: belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We are encouraged to seek and grow in our own faith journey through the study of scripture, worship, and prayer, and we encourage a freedom of belief in our congregation. Diversity of opinion is not only common in the life of our church, it is welcomed.
