Victorian Square Worship Service On the 1st Sunday of each month a group of volunteers gather at Victorian Square at 2:00 P.M. to present a worship service for the people at this assisted living home who would not normally be able to attend church services.worship service includes communion, another element that these individuals would not be able to receive.
Chancel Choir leads in worship during the Sunday 10:50 service. The choir also prepares special seasonal music programs. Choral works reflect a variety of musical styles from the sacred and classical repertoire, as well as contemporary and gospel selections. Rehearsals are held 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesdays. New members are welcome. No previous musical training is necessary to join the choir.
Seekers Class We use The Present Word, a Bible study series.come together to study Biblical text and to act on what we discover there.class is comprised of mature adults and a variety of approaches to learning make for an interesting lesson, including active participation by class members
Ramp Builders A small group of members work together to provide handicap access for families in our communities.Some ramps are built entirely by the group while many are joint efforts with relief agencies in Roane County.
Children's Program The program incorporates all ages in a rotational model of learning. The curriculum, which is written by a church writing team, uses drama, crafts, and science to lead the kids through an experiential process in learning bible stories and character building. Our newly
renovated room, with its ethic/multi-cultural theme, is geared to spark the imagination of a world filled with God’s love and grace for all.
Mother’s Day Out This preschool program for kids ages three to five is designed to help children learn character building basics such as: how to get along with others, share, and take turns as well as education basics: shapes, colors, ABC’s and sounds. The program emphasizes learning through singing songs, art projects and field trips. The MDO provides a safe, clean atmosphere for children to learn and have fun. The program runs two days a week per age group and the fee is $10 a day. MDO follows the same schedule as the Roane County School system. such belongs the kingdom of God.”
Women’s Class #6 This class for women usually 60 or older uses the Uniform Series International Bible Lesson. The women typically discuss the weeks lessons connecting it to God’s interaction to their life in general.
Rockwood Ministerial Association A cooperative community ministry sponsered by many faith organizations in Rockwood. The ministry provides some financial relief along with an operating food bank and used furniture selection. The last Sunday of each month is designated as a day our membership donates goods to the RMA ministry. First Christian Church serves as a collection and storage point for the RMA sponsered Christmas Basket program each year.
Love Kitchen First Presbyterian Church in Rockwood sponsors meals for the community on the second and last Saturday of each month. Various groups from First Christian Church share in this ministry several times each year preparing and serving the meals.
