First Christian Church(DOC) is a community of people who have been living and serving in the heart of Rockwood since 1885.  We are a people with a rich heritage and a bright future! We extend Christian hospitality to all who want to grow in their relationship with God. We invite all who seek to follow Jesus of Nazareth to participate with us in the ministries and services of the Church, including the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

First Christian Church is a congregation that is a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ,) a Christian tradition that began on the American frontier in the 1800’s. Today, we are united with the more than 4,000 Disciple of Christ congregations in the United States.

About Us
It is our hope that all who enter our doors will feel welcomed and at home!

At FCC children are seen and heard! We have a nursery for infants through three years of age & a children's worship called, "Worship & Wonder." We are a congregation that brings our joys & concerns to God in prayer, we laugh often, and take joy in coming together in worship. Each week we have Communion, or what is often called, the Lord's Supper and we welcome all to Christ's table.

You are welcome to keep your children with you in worship or leave young ones in the nursery.  Towards the beginning of worship we have “Children’s Time,” which is a moment of blessing and reflection for kids of all ages.  We then invite children four & up to attend our children’s worship, “Worship & Wonder.”

Our dress code is: “Come as you are!”  On Sunday morning you will see people wearing jeans, t-shirts, suits, and dresses.  The clothes you choose to wear is not important to us and we hope you will feel welcomed!

You can park your car in any open space on Rockwood Street.  If that is full, you can also park at the Rockwood Electric Utility parking lot or in the Regions Bank parking on Chamberlain Avenue.  There is a bridge that connects the Bank Property to our church.

We are a church that loves to laugh and really loves to eat!  But, most importantly, we are a church who remembers we are family because of our Savior, Jesus Christ who has made us brothers and sisters.
